Hi my name is Sharon Bala-Barretto and I have been married for 31 years. I have three children and five grandchildren. In my free time when I'm not working I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have been employed by Kaiser Permanente for 14 years as an Appointment Registration Clerk. I have been doing Customer Service for over 30 years, and I enjoy what I do because I'm always meeting new people, making new friends, and most of all, helping others address their medical needs.
What do they do?

Greet patients

"Checks patients in", verifying insurance card and photo ID

Verifies insurance coverage and out of pocket expense

"Checks patient in" using electronic health system software

Collects payments from patients

Directs patients where to go

Schedules patients for appointments

Provides exam preparation instructions for patient

Receives incoming and makes outgoing calls using softphone (computer based phone)
